Knitted fabrics are everywhere in daily wear, offering comfort and versatility. From casual tees to cozy loungewear, each type has unique traits worth discovering.
1. Roman cloth
Roman cloth is a kind of weft knitted fabric, made with double-sided circular knitting machine. It is also called Panyangdi Roman cloth and is commonly known as chicken cloth. Roman cloth is a four-way loop. The cloth surface is not as smooth as ordinary double-sided cloth, but has slightly irregular horizontal stripes. The fabric has good elasticity both horizontally and vertically, and has strong moisture absorption.
Common raw materials: polyester cotton, nylon cotton, polyester, polyester spandex, etc.

2. Pique mesh fabric
Pique mesh, in a broad sense, refers to the concave and convex style fabrics with knitted coils. In a narrow sense, it means a 4-way, one-cycle concave and convex texture fabric woven by a single-sided circular knitting machine. Because the fabric has evenly arranged concave and convex effects, the surface that contacts the skin is better than ordinary single-sided jersey tissue in terms of breathability, heat dissipation, and perspiration comfort.
Common raw materials: cotton, cotton-polyester blend, modal, bamboo fiber, etc.

3. Sweatshirt cloth
Sweatshirt fabric is a kind of knitted fabric. It is called French terry in English, and it is called fleece after being roughened. This type of knitted fabric is mostly made of displacement yarn, so it is called displacement fabric or sweatshirt fabric. Sweatshirt cloth is the name of Guangdong/Hong Kong. Polar fleece is also called sweatshirt cloth. There is also a kind of cloth: plain cloth on the surface and a wraparound tissue like fish scales on the bottom, also called sweatshirt cloth.

4. Rib cloth
Rib knitted fabric is a knitted fabric in which a single yarn forms wales of loops on the front and back sides. Rib knitted fabric has the detachability, hemming and extensibility of plain weave fabric, while also having greater elasticity. It is often used for the collar and cuffs of T-shirts. It has a good slimming effect and is highly elastic. It is mainly used for casual style clothing.
Double-sided rib fabric: Ordinary double-sided fabric, also called cotton wool fabric, is composed of two ribs crossed together. Common ones include cotton wool, needle cotton wool, spandex cotton wool, etc.

5. Cotton woolen cloth
Cotton wool cloth is a kind of weft knitted fabric, which is a knitted fabric composed of two rib tissues compounded with each other. This kind of fabric feels soft, has good elasticity, even cloth surface, clear texture, and is more stable than jersey and rib fabric. Because only the front loops can be seen on both sides of the fabric, it is also called double-sided fabric. Cotton wool cloth is suitable for sewing underwear, trousers, sportswear, etc. in spring, autumn and winter.

6. Coral velvet
Coral velvet is a warp knitted fabric that is made through dyeing, brushing, shearing, carding, printing and other processes. Coral velvet is a new type of fabric with fine texture, soft hand feel, no lint, no pilling, no fading, no irritation to the skin, and no allergy. Beautiful appearance and rich colors. Common coral velvet uses polyester fiber DTY150d/288f and DTY150d/144f as raw materials. The fiber size is fine and the bending modulus is small, so the fabric has excellent softness.

7. Polar fleece
Polar fleece is a kind of knitted fabric. It is woven by a circular knitting machine. After being woven, the gray fabric is first dyed, and then processed by various complex processes such as brushing, carding, shearing, and polarization. The front of the fabric is brushed and polarized. It is fluffy and dense but not easy to shed or pill. The nap on the reverse side is sparse and even, and the fluffy elasticity is very good. Its ingredients are generally pure polyester and soft to the touch.

8. Velvet
Velvet is a kind of velvet weft-knitted fabric. The velvet warp forms loops or piles on the surface of the fabric. Also known as Zhangrong, it is named after its origin in Zhangzhou area, Fujian Province, China. It was mass-produced in the Ming Dynasty and is one of China's traditional fabrics. There are two types of velvet: floral and plain. The surface of plain velvet is all loops, while floral velvet is made by cutting part of the loops into piles according to the pattern, and the piles and loops alternate to form a pattern. Flower velvet is divided into two types: "bright flower" and "dark flower".

9. Khan cloth
Jersey is a thin knitted fabric, generally made of fine or medium-sized pure cotton or blended yarn, knitted into single or double layers on a warp knitting or weft knitting machine using plain stitch, tuck, rib, jacquard and other structures. The fabric is then bleached, dyed, printed, finished, and then tailored into various styles of sweatshirts and vests.
The cloth composition includes 100% cotton, and others include cotton blends, pure polyester, polyester-cotton, rayon, modal, cotton-span, polyester-span, nylon-nylon, TR, RC, etc.

10. Artificial fur
Artificial fur refers to a plush knitted fabric that looks like animal fur. The down is divided into two layers, the outer layer is bright, thick and straight bristles, and the inner layer is fine, soft short velvet. When knitting, the carding mechanism disperses the tops into single fibers. The knitting needles grab the fibers and insert the base yarn into the loops to knit them into loops. Since the pile is in a "V" shape in the loops, the knitted base fabric is shaped and will not shed.

11. Cashmere cloth
Cashmere fabrics are mainly divided into two categories: knitted fabrics and woven fabrics. Knitted fabrics are made by using knitting needles to form loops of yarn or filament, and then stringing the loops together. Due to the loop structural characteristics of knitted fabrics, a large amount of yarn is stored per unit length, so most of them have good elasticity. Knitted fabrics are available in single-sided and double-sided fabrics.

12. Modal
Modal fiber is a kind of cellulose fiber, which is the same as rayon and is a pure man-made fiber. Made from wood slurry produced in European shrubs and then processed through a specialized spinning process, Modal products are mostly used in Production of underwear.
